OUR WORLD
We learn about the solar system, planets, as well as cultures and continents in our world. We explore animals, foods, recipes, clothing, and music from different countries
ARTS AND CRAFTS
We provide lots of different materials for group crafts as well as open-ended creativity. We also provide other materials such as play dough, kinetic sand, paints, and paper
BOOKS
We have books for the children to look at themselves, and we read books in small groups as well as 1-on-1. We also extend this learning from books through craft activities, puppets, drama, and songs
STEM
We have science experiments, maths activities and learning materials for exploring our world around us - such as cause and effect, freezing and melting, floating and sinking
We incorporate group songs, movement to music, and guitar and instruments to our daily routine
MUSIC
BUILDING + CONSTRUCTION
We provide a variety of building materials ranging from cardboard boxes, lego, wooden blocks, construction gears, tree stumps, and natural materials. We also have gutter channels to facilitate building tracks for toy cars, water, balls or sand
OUTDOOR
We have a partially sheltered and enclosed outdoor play area which incorporates a music/sensory wall, space for mobile toys, natural materials for construction, water and sand play, mud kitchen, and a cushioned reading area
JIGSAWS
We have a variety of jigsaws, fine motor equipment, and materials for counting, sorting, and open-ended play
HOME CORNER
We alternate our materials responding to children’s interest and seasons/events. Our home corner can include a play kitchen, dress up box, a vet station, doctor bag, laundry area (ironing board, washing line, clothing), baby dolls, and soft toy pets
